Sumatra Gayo coffee originates from North Sumatra, where traditional Indonesian coffee cultivation thrives on small farms averaging under 3 acres. Grown by the Hutasoit tribe, with 70% of producers being women supporting their families, this coffee reflects a rich cultural heritage. Each producer meticulously sorts cherries before depulping and fermenting them in airtight containers for up to seven days, enhancing flavor complexity. The beans undergo the distinctive Indonesian wet-hulling (Giling Basah) process, which imparts their characteristic bluish hue and unique profile. Adena Coffee manages logistics and milling, ensuring timely export and fair returns for farmers.
